We just keep plugging away

Its been 2 weeks. We hadn't gotten any guild "firsts" but we did accomplish things in those 2 weekends of raids. We continued to do well in Karazhan. Adding the Opera Events and Curator to farm status(this is mostly something determined by me btw. If we can kill a boss 3 weeks in a row without wiping, its on farm, its mostly a non issue.) We downed Aran every week, but having wiped on him this weekend, I'm not ready to add him to the "farm list' just yet.

We have been routinely clearing through the Shade of Aran on our first nights. This gives us one full night to learn and attempt the other encounters. Week 1, we concentrated souly on Netherspite. He proved to be our bane, the night was long and rough, so we retired and licked our wounds for a week.

Come this weekend and things were starting to look the same way. Then things seemed to click, and we managed to survive so long that he became enraged and proceeded to 1 shot the raid member by member. Smelling blood, we entered again, determined and focused.

I know this is only a game, but I'll admit, when Netherspites life reached about 10% I started to hold my breath. In vent you could hear the anticipation of success on peoples voices. It was almost at a fevered pitch.

The beast died. Hoax had its first Netherspite kill. With only 1 death, a mage of course, as is Hoax style. I think this kill was one of the most fulfilling for me personally. It also cemented the fact that Hoax wants to progress in my mind. People are bringing 120% to these attempts. And that's what we need.

Congrats Hoax, you deserve it. Click them for full picture.

We also had our first few goes at Prince Malchezaar. I'm confident he's doable. We just need a little practice.

I would like to take a moment though, and give a huge thumbs-up(cheesy, I know) to the guild as a whole. We have come such a long long way since the release of tBC. We went from being a small group of friends who would run UBRS together(because lets admit it, even though we did some stuff in ZG and AQ20, we often times had to go outside the guild, even if it was mostly Hoax) to a slightly larger group of friends who is looking forward to Gruul's Lair and past. Some of us have some "end game" experience tagging along with other guilds. Some were with when we prayed a co-op with another guild would lead us someplace(some did OK, others, not so). Now, we do things at our pace, on our time, and how we as Hoax want to do things. Never making this a job, and enjoying the ride as we go. To hell with what other guilds are doing or where they are. That to me is a success of monumental proportions.

I may lead the raids and the guild now. But we would not be where we are now progression wise without each and every person who has come with us and committed there time, energy, and drive to help us get here. I'm happy to see us still growing, and adding quality members to the guild. Things are looking bright for us. Just remember, this may be "only a game", but we can take pleasure and pride in our chosen hobby.

My hat goes off to you Hoax.
